Customers often ask, “Where does the name Archie come from?”

Well… it goes back to a time when it was pretty cool to own a ’94 Kawasaki KX500 and an early ’93 Ski-Doo Mach Z—and when one guy was just getting his start in the powersports world.

Our owner, John, began his career at Cycle City of Erie. Like most starting out, he was learning the ropes, getting his hands dirty, and figuring out what it really meant to be part of the industry. Somewhere along the way, a coworker looked at him and said he didn’t look like a “John”… he looked more like an Archie.

And just like that—the name stuck.

What started as a nickname turned into an identity. That identity grew into a passion, and that passion became Archie’s Powersports.

Today, Archie’s isn’t just a name—it represents:

• A hardworking, down-to-earth approach

• A love for machines and the people who ride them

• And a commitment to doing things the right way

From dirt bikes and sleds to ATVs and side-by-sides, we’ve built this shop around the same values John started with—honest work, real relationships, and a genuine passion for powersports.
